Cynthia
Thickpenny
Cynthia has been riding for eight years. She learned
to ride at Stanford Equestrian Center. After five years,
she leased Stroller, an instructor's horse. It was then
when she began to have an interest in dressage. Stroller
was well trained and an excellent teacher whom she rode
in her first shows. When it was time to retire Stroller,
she began to look for her own horse. Eventually she
found Rose, a chestnut Appendix mare. Together they
went to the 2003 Junior Rider Championships. Unfortunately,
Rose was older and suffering from lameness, so after
one year she had to be retired. She enjoyed her last
year as a pasture buddy and passed away in November
of 2004. In the spring of 2004 Cynthia got a new horse,
a nine year old Dutch Warmblood mare named Nellie. She
is a wonderful, affectionate, and super-safe horse.
They are currently successfully showing at First Level.
